Featherdale Wildlife Park

Today I went to Featherdale Wildlife Park

I learnt that the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby is  "vulnerable". The Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby eat grass and shrubs and are thought to be the only mammal mothers to transfer water from their mouths to their babies. For more information - Australian Wildlife Conservation - Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby

My favourite animal at the Park is the Southern Cassowary which is "endangered" and lives in Northern Queensland. They are flightless bird up to 2 metres tall and eat fruit and seeds. For more information  - Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland - Southern Cassowary
